What is Healthy Communities?

We are an Federal IRS designated 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization committed to improving the "quality of life" in  Southern Inyo County by supporting and partnering with individuals, community leaders, businesses, schools, and other local community and civic groups.

We offer social, recreational, cultural and educational activities & programs to promote cultural awareness and an appreciation of our local history, as well as our local geology and environment.
We are also committed to providing a healthy and safe environment for our youth and others by providing healthy lifestyle education and activities, and providing support for special populations.

What's different about Healthy Communities?
Traditionally citizens have been viewed as "consumers" of services. We see the citizen as a partner and participant in the decision-making. We seek to create a resource bank of individuals and groups that are interested in partnering and in participating together to make our communities stronger, safer and healthier.
