Charles James joined Healthy Communities in September, 2006.
A former Lifeguard and Regional Aquatics Supervisor for the City of Los Angeles Recreation & Parks for twenty years, James has also been affiliated with the American Red Cross for over 40 years, serving as a disaster and healthy & safety volunteer as well as an employee of the Greater Los Angeles Chapter for 15 years. As a former Health, Safety & Preparedness Specialist and Special Projects Manager for the Los Angeles Chapter , James served as the chapter's liaison for Inyo-Mono Counties Service Area from 1995-2003.
A strong believer in civic and community involvement, James is a member of the CA State Red Cross Healthy & Safety Committee, the Alabama Hills Stewardship Committee, the Inyo County Juvenile Justice Commission, Inyo Associates, the Lo Inyo School Parents Club, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Lone Pine Economic Development Corporation
